The Joseph and Kathleen Sorenson Legacy Foundation was established in 2018 for the purpose of supporting charitable causes and improving the world in which we live. The Foundation’s purpose is to help individuals and organizations lift themselves and provide sustainable growth. While the foundation focuses its charitable efforts in Salt Lake City, and the greater state of Utah, it also supports international causes that fit within its overall mission.
The JKS Legacy Foundation actively supports the arts and education, therapeutic recreation and other healthcare and religious causes.
Mission Statement
The Joseph and Kathleen Sorenson Legacy Foundation is a non-profit corporation established by Joseph Sorenson and his wife Kathleen for the purpose of promoting charitable, artistic, religious, educational, literary and scientific endeavors. The foundation is based in Salt Lake City, Utah and is qualified under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Grant Application
All JKS Legacy Foundation applications will be reviewed and screened to ensure that applications are appropriate within the foundation’s charter and are approved and in good standing with IRS 501(c)(3) requirements. Applicant organizations must have a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt status to be eligible to apply. Proof of 501(c)(3) status is required. Additional required financial documentation will be needed. Grant applications are reviewed by the foundation’s board of directors on a quarterly basis.Â
